Kurrajong Kindness & Country Charm

Kurrajong village is a charming country community nestled in the foot of Blue Mountains.

Last week I took a close friend out for her birthday and wanted her to experience a pamper day free of kids and full of exploration and relaxation.

So we got into the Beetle, ‘Blessing’ and drove with the roof down and the music up loud.

We even got stopped by Police for a random breath test and he mentioned it was a perfect day to drive with the top down in the warm sunshine.

Here are my highlights of Kurrajong village. There’s more that it has to offer but we’re focusing on the village for this post. ūüôā

I had booked¬†my friend¬†in for a relaxing massage with¬† the lovely and kind Claudia from Healing Touch Wellness Therapies¬†. I love a good massage and have had many but Claudia does it with such care and kindness. She has a great method, gentle manner and kind disposition. I¬†rarely fall¬†asleep in massages (as I want my money’s worth) but¬†when I have¬†her signature¬†Hot Stone Massage,¬†the warm heat and gentle strokes just¬†lulls me into a light sleep.¬†Its¬†lovely and Hot Stones are nothing to be afraid of. In fact,¬†the heat actually relaxes the muscles like a hot shower does and is much more effective¬†than a thumb¬†kneading into your shoulders.

Claudia often has great promotional offers like her birthday special of 2 massages for $50 each which I’ve snapped up on! She also has ongoing offers for regular clients¬†that make it easy to do and worthwhile financially so check her Facebook page out.

Claudia is located in the Blissful Hair & Beauty Salon on the far end of the village. She is the best I’ve experienced for¬†the body and soul so book in as I cant recommend her enough. Yes, it is a trek out¬†but make a day out of it in the lush natural surroundings and¬†see below for what else you can see and enjoy in Kurrajong¬†– you won’t be disappointed!

Here’s what else you can see at Kurrajong, come alone for a quick tour.

As we drove into the village a collection of doors caught my eye. We were intrigued enough to stop and were lucky enough to be given a tour by the Grounds Keeper who was great. We discovered that the place was actually a dog park and café. It is very new and only open Friday РSunday but they have a great rustic, natural environment (loved, loved the styling) and even offer Puppychinos for your furry friends РI love it! What a cool concept and hopefully it brings more visitors and their pups into Kurrajong.

While my friend got her pamper on, I shopped and stumbled into this sweet store filled with unique and pretty pieces. I bought a pair of dangly earrings for my sisters 40th  birthday, a heart necklace for my niece, a throw and trio of bottles that would make for cute props for shoots. I loved that the shop had interior, fashion, books, jewellery and everything in between. Definitely one to check out but be prepared to walk out with something. Its just one of those stores with a great range! Reminded me of stores in Berry.

My favourite place to eat in Kurrajong is Sassafras Creek and the adjoining store. Their food is delicious, the venue is classy and they have a deck with showcases a beautiful view of the landscape.

There’s also a sweet caf√© ¬†near Blissful Hair & Beauty Salon reminiscent of a milkshake bar that you would visit after school. It has all the sweet goodies any kids would love, gifts and I loved that they had a charger at the bench. Now that’s a plus for me!

I also stumbled into a new deli which had all the feels of a French bakery.

Lastly, whilst its not in the village, one of my favourite cafes in Kurrajong Heights is Blue Bird Echo  Café & Restaurant.

Its clear that this quaint community has lots of gems to offer visitors so drop in and soak up all Kurrajong has and don’t forget to try one of Claudia’s massage. You’ll thank me for it so you’re welcome in advance. ūüėČ
